The Premier Hotel

Designing for: the contemporary American Grand Hotel

3rd Year Design Studio

Professor TK Davis

Site Location: 300 2nd Ave N, Nashville, TN 37201

One of the largest attractions to Nashville is the ample stars that have rose from its streets. Yet not all are able to reach this grandeur of life, but this does not mean one should not be provided a glimpse of a catered lifestyle. Within the proposal for Church Street a hotel is to be put in place where every guest is treated like a star. This includes a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, nouvelle cuisine, a venue space, spas, beautiful rooms, and exclusive access. This hotel would work with attractions within Nashville to give guests special deals and private entries. It would also cater to a space for visitors to partake in premieres of cinema, music, and more.

Project Metaphor:

The proposal for this hotel is foreseen to be a location for all: friends, families, children, adults, the married, and single unified through a single structure. The immense hope for this project is to demonstrate the preservation of Nashville's enjoyment past the attraction and brought back to a place of joy and relaxation. Not only is it to serve the guest of Nashville, but help promote the downtown area. In order to increase patrons, a desired space must be created. This project serves to unite the pleasantries of Nashville in a single location, not only to draw visitors in but encourage expansion throughout Nashville through previews of what the city encompasses. The space is projected to provide convenience for customers due to the downtown location, as well as short and long-term rentals. The building is to stand out amongst 2nd avenue where people across the river will be drawn in through curiosity for a new experience. The building is to reflect the true nature of what makes Nashville a remarkable city. This includes encompassing the dynamic of Tennessean hospitality to all. The building design will be centered around the idea of welcoming. The ideas of what allures tourists and entices not only imagination and curiosity but joy and comfort as well. The proposal consists of providing for Nashville party-goers as well as those who want a relaxing vacation of comfort and ease.

Imaginative Statement:

A location of grandeur and enjoyment stands out from the street of 2nd avenue. Its beautiful lights are reflected across the river

when the sunlight begins to fade. As one approaches the structure their heart is filled with the excitement of the time ahead. A jaw-dropping moment occurs upon entering the lobby. Detail of every component of the architecture is seen, studied, and admired.

From the time the guest arrives until they leave, each is treated like a star. Exquisite food, sizzling from the open kitchen is brought

within the restaurant area viewing the riverfront. Amenities of special access, previews, and privacy are all provided to that each

patron feels specially cared for. Fine service does not end upon retirement to the room but continues throughout the entire stay.

Opulence continues as the patron walks down the beautiful hallway to their door. Upon entering every guest is greeted with

waterfront views, no matter which room, suite, or loft is rented. Guests feel special and welcomed no matter where they are. They

are catered to every need. One’s trip feels relaxed and comfortable due to the convenience provided.

A hotel is the first place a visitor goes when arriving in a new town. It is the epicenter of

preparation of excitement for all the experiences to occur in the great city of Nashville. A hotel can dictate a trip, this hotel is to

open one's eyes to a lifetime of true self-joy and worth, for all deserve to be treated special.
